Spicy Tomato ‘Tuna’ Onigiri. 🍅🌶🍙
Ingredients: 🍅 roma tomatoes, 🥢 soy sauce, 🍶 rice vinegar, 🍭 mirin, 🍶 sake, 🛢 neutral oil, 🧂 kombu dashi granules, 🟫 roasted nori, 🥄 vegan mayo, 🌶 sriracha, 🥄 sesame oil
Quick Prep: Blanch and peel tomatoes, remove the seeds, and marinate with all seasonings and torn nori. Chill overnight. Chop finely, mix with spicy mayo. For crispy rice, shape cold sushi rice into blocks and pan-fry both sides until golden. 🔥
The result is a contrast of textures—crispy outside, tender and spicy inside—with a deep umami taste that makes this dish so satisfying.
