Soft, chewy, and coated in a spicy-sweet umami sauce—Tteokbokki is the ultimate Korean street food you can now make easily at home.
With just one pan and a few staple ingredients, you’ll have a cozy, comforting dish ready in 20 minutes. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a savory snack fix.
In a bowl, mix 2 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp gochugaru, 2 cloves minced garlic, 2 tbsp honey (or rice syrup), and 3 tbsp gochujang. Add 3 cups anchovy stock (or water) to a pan and bring to a boil. Toss in 450g Korean rice cakes and the sauce. Let simmer for 10 minutes, then stir in 2–3 sheets of sliced fish cake and cook for another 2 minutes.
Garnish with green onion if desired, and you’re done!
