If you love the creamy comfort of rose tteokbokki and the fiery kick of mala, this fusion version is a match made in heaven.
Chewy rice cakes, savory bacon, and bouncy fish cakes all simmered in a rich and spicy cream base—it’s bold, flavorful, and just too good to share.
Start by prepping: slice 250g wheat rice cake, 1 piece of fish cake, 2 strips of bacon, ½ onion, and a handful of green onion. Soak flat glass noodles in water for 2 hours or boil them briefly. In a pan, sauté green onion, onion, and bacon in 2 tbsp oil. Add 200ml milk, 200ml fresh cream, and 5 tbsp tteokbokki sauce. Once it bubbles, toss in the rice cakes, Vienna sausages, soaked noodles, and fish cake.
Simmer until the rice cake is soft, then stir in 1.5 tbsp mala sauce. That’s it—creamy, spicy, chewy goodness in every bite!
