Spicy stir-fried fish cake, or Eomuk Bokkeum, is a classic Korean side dish that’s sweet, spicy, and packed with umami.
It’s quick, easy, and absolutely delicious served with a warm bowl of rice.
Start by stir-frying sliced Korean fish cakes with a bit of oil. For the sauce, mix 3 spoons gochujang, 5 spoons starch syrup, 1 spoon soy sauce, 1 spoon gochugaru, and 0.5 spoon sesame oil. Pour the sauce over the fish cakes and stir-fry until everything is well-coated and glossy. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if you like.
