Dubu Jorim is a savory Korean tofu dish where golden-fried tofu soaks up a punchy, spicy soy-based sauce.
It’s simple, satisfying, and perfect with a bowl of warm rice.
To make it, slice 1 lb of firm tofu into ¼-inch thick pieces, season lightly, and pan-fry with 1 tbsp oil until golden. In a bowl, mix 4 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp mirin, ½ tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp gochugaru, and ½ cup water. Add 3 minced garlic cloves, ½ chopped onion, and white parts of 2 green onions. Pour over the tofu, cover, and simmer on low for 5 minutes. Uncover and cook another 2–3 minutes until reduced. Finish with sesame oil, sesame seeds, and green onions.
